Boeing Model 818 TFX
Fictional profiles of an unbuilt aircraft (winner was the General Dynamics F-111).
This is one of the earliest aircraft profiles that I created. Shading and lighting was fairly minimal, and I used a lot of solid black lines for the details.
I soon decided that it was too much extra work to create color profiles of all three views of the aircraft.

This profile depicts what the Boeing TFX entry might have looked like if it won instead of General Dynamics. I decided that, in my "what-if" scenario, the 1962 Tri-Service re-designation resulted in the F-111 being re-designated F-7 (instead of the Convair F2Y), and Boeing liked to use the "Strato-" prefix, so why not a Stratofighter? This is the USAF version, serial number 65-5710, stationed at RAF Lakenheath in the early 1970's.

The carrier-based US Navy version of the TFX; this is F-7B Stratofighter BuNo 160393 with VF-84 "Jolly Rogers" in the 1970's.

Here's the "F-7C Stratofighter" (Stratopig?), Royal Australian Air Force, No. 1 Squadron, aircraft s/n A8-125, in standard and low-viz paint schemes.

Here's one more Stratofighter, this time an RAF version, Stratofighter S.1 XV864 with No. 12 Squadron.
