Curtiss YP-37
Fictional developments of the Curtiss YP-37 pre-war fighter prototypes.
This was a more detailed profile, inspired by by the question "What if the YP-37 had actually been put into production as the successor to the P-36 (instead of the P-40)?" I used more lighting and shading to show details (for example, the intake on the side of
the engine/nose - compare to the line drawing). I used more layers in Paint Shop Pro and placeholder colors (red, blue, etc) to create a more detailed image that was also a bit easier to work with. I was still trying to figure out the best way depict the canopy glass.
Color schemes were also a bit more complex. I drafted all of the shark's teeth nose art in AutoCAD. While I drafted all three views of the aircraft, I only created a color profile of the side elevation. The other views were included as a background image.
